Traffic/Safety Update – Annehurst Elementary School
Hello Annehurst-
Recently AVRA and local volunteers completed the data gathering phase of our look into the safety concerns around Annehurst Elementary arrival and dismissal. We will be putting together a report with recommendations for local government representatives and are interested in collecting additional neighborhood feedback. If you have any thoughts or concerns about pedestrian/bike safety around Annehurst that you’d like to share please email michaelbatchelder@gmail.com by FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 12TH, so we can include resident comments in our report.
Thank you

I have proudly called Annehurst home for nearly 15 years. As a firefighter/paramedic, serving others is in my nature, and I want to bring that same spirit of service to our neighborhood board. My wife and I are raising two daughters who both swim for the Annehurst Piranhas.
What I love most about Annehurst is the pool, the sense of community, and the vintage charm that makes our neighborhood so unique. I’m passionate about keeping Annehurst connected, engaging, thriving, and welcoming for families new and old. I’d be honored to help support and strengthen the community we all love.

I recently moved to the neighborhood with my wife, Jessica, and our dog, Pippin, as of June 1, 2025. Unknowingly, when we bought our home, we stepped into a community already meaningful to us—many of our close friends grew up in AV, and their families are still part of it today.
Professionally, I work in sales within the healthcare staffing industry. Over the past 13 years, I’ve specialized in talent acquisition strategy, project management, compliance and contract management, training and development, stakeholder engagement, and negotiation—skills I believe can support the board’s planning and stewardship efforts.
I’ve volunteered with organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, Meals on Wheels, and Matthew 25: Ministries, and have participated in local events like the Ohio River Paddlefest and FCC’s Learning Is Cool. Fun fact: I’ve officiated the weddings of four of my close friends!
Though new to the community, I’m eager to support local initiatives, listen to the needs of our residents, and help foster a sense of connection and enthusiasm in a neighborhood that’s already so meaningful to those I care about.
THANK YOU!!!
A HUGE Thank You to those who volunteered for Saturday’s pool clean-up day. With your help, a lot was accomplished.
Painting was done, deck chairs and lounge chairs power-washed, weeding done, concrete patches fixed, pool filter and cleaning done, and many more things accomplished.
This will be another amazing summer at the pool with the refreshed look of the buildings including new roof, paint, new bathroom floors, and new heaters for the pool!
This week final touches will be done in advance of the pool opening on Saturday May 24, at 12:00 PM. We hope to see you there!

UPDATE COMPLETE – New Software for AVRA
The Annehurst Village Residents Association (AVRA) has purchased new software that is being implemented to assist in pool memberships. This will help streamline the process of joining the pool and perhaps becoming a cashless community. For those of you who have already paid your pool membership for 2025, you may have already received an email receipt. You will be seeing another email within the next few days that will come from the new software/system. It will include the pool rules as well as information regarding your membership. Your free snack card will be added to your account. When you visit the pool’s snack shack at the pool, you will be able to make purchases directly from your account and will be able to add funds to your account via the new system. More details to come, stay tuned!
Please keep an eye on our Facebook page and this website as more information becomes available.
