Board Nominations 2026-2028

In no particular order, here are this year’s nominees for positions on the Annehurst Village Residents Association Board of Directors. Check your mail for ballots coming soon.

Denise Hazel

I am writing to be considered for one of the positions on the Annehurst Village Board of Trustees.  My name is Denise L. Hazel.  After a 2-year search for my “forever home”, I found it in Annehurst. I moved here in November 2025, I live on College Crest Rd. I feel so blessed in my new home and feel this is where I was meant to be. I simply adore the area.

I am a retired Medical Social Worker from OSU Medical Center. I currently work at Mount Carmel St Ann’s Hospital on a contingent basis two days each week.

I have an undergraduate degree from LeMoyne-Owen College in Memphis, a Historically Black College University (HBCU).  I earned a Masters degree in Social Work from The University of Tennessee in Knoxville.

My years of experience as a Social Worker have several valuable assets.  They allow me to utilize my interpersonal skills in working with others.  I communicate effectively, both verbally and written.  I think outside of the box when problem solving and look for appropriate resources.  As a Medical Social Worker, you interact with multiple disciplines, Physicians, Nurses, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Pharmacists and some Administrators.   I feel the skills I have in working with various professionals are transferable to work well with anyone.  My super power is positivity and encouragement. I am open to learning.

I have one son who is married and lives in Cincinnati.  They moved to Cincinnati from San Diego a year or so ago.   My son graduated from St Francis DeSales and earned a full athletic scholarship to the University of Cincinnati where he graduated from. I have three adorable smart grandsons, ages 7, 6 and 3. I am happy to have them closer.

As an Annehurst resident, I would work with the board to improve the overall quality of life living here. I enjoy assisting with planning and helping to coordinate events. I take tremendous pride in doing the best job I can do.  I love working behind the scenes. I am hopeful to work with board to make Annehurst Village the best place to live.

Craig Shaver

My wife children and I (Megan, Cam (13) Brooklyn (10), have been residents in Annehurst for the past 12 years and have truly enjoyed calling this neighborhood home. Over the years, Ive built strong relationships with many of our neighbors, and developed a deep appreciation for our community. I’m interested in serving the board because I want to give back to help maintain and improve the neighborhood that has meant so much to our family. I look forward to contributing my time, ideas, and commitment to helping Annehurst continue to be a great place to live.

Tim Goggin

I live at 146 Hanby Avenue. I am running again for a Board position and have been the President of the AVRA Board the past two years.

The first time we drove up Main Street on a warm sunny spring day, the trees were blossoming and kids and families were outside. My wife and I both felt we were home and Annehurst has been home for the past 37 years.

I ran for the AVRA Board with the intent to bring stability and fiscal responsibility for the 900 homes in our Association.

Over the past two years we’ve accomplished a great deal.

We continue work on the  mechanical and cosmetic upgrades necessary to maintain our main asset – the pool. Our increased pool  membership have reflected the work we’ve done.

We have supported and worked with the City and the School District to improve safety for our children at Main Street and Granby.  School zone lighting and speed notifications were installed.

At Granby and Old Coach stop signs were installed to slow down traffic and increase safety for our kids. We have worked with the Annehurst Garden Club to beautify the front of the pool. We sponsored the Easter Egg hunt, hosted the Trunk or Treat and the Adult Pool Party.

These efforts and initiatives are done by your volunteer Board.

We have more to accomplish.

We need to continue the maintenance work on our primary asset. We need to continue to find ways to support the safety of our children and residents in the neighborhood and we need to explore ways to continue to beautifying our wonderful neighborhood.

I am asking for your support to continue the work we hope to accomplish in asset maintenance, safety and neighborhood beautification.
